May number four, 2008 -

Good day.
We trust all is well in your camp? Things are going just swimmingly at this end (thanks for asking). We recorded three brand new songs at the end of March. They go by the names of Wasted Lives, Slender Fingers and A Certain Code. You can hear a couple of these on the M.i.C myspace world AND they are also available on i-tunes, where you can also get all previous Men in Caves audio happenings for a mere 79 pence a go.
We have some of amazing gigs coming up including Covstock 2008 where we'll be supporting The Music and a whole host of other amazing bands, all in the name of charity, in the awe inspiring Cathedral Ruins of Coventry.
We were once again interviewed & played on the BBC Coventry & Warwickshire Introducing radio show this week. If you're quick you can listen again HERE There is also some brand new photographic evidence of our existence. You can run your eyes over it at places like myspace or facebookOh and we've made you a video. This will be on your desk very soon.

Ta-ta for now. Ta

The Sabbath, Day number 17, February, 2008 -

Well hello you.
There's been plenty of movement in the Men in Caves corner of late. We're working on some new noise pieces to be taped in late March. In fact we're trialing some of said musical takes at the various gig shows we've got pencilled in. Oh and there's been some remix goings on, the first of which sees the wonderful Moschakis remixing our track "For Your Country" in a spaced out styley. It's on the M.i.C myspace page just here ---> While you're there check out the video of unrecorded track called "See Through You" live for student TV.
We've also gone and got us some brand new badges and stickers. These are free if you stroll on down to a gig sometime and ask nicely. Get a peek preview of the gear by clicking just about... HERE

Toodle pip for now!

Hola!
We hope you are nay bad eh? All is going swimmingly in the M.i.C camp, with plenty of action on the horizon- You'd do well to swing past the gigs page and write the relevant days and times on your hand in red ink. Meanwhile, the Lost At Sea CD has been netting us fantabulous write ups, most recently from Artrocker and also from Birmingham based music hacks Liquor Is Quicker. We've recently put the full whammy of reviews, interviews in one place, and that place be our Myspace Blog. Early demo The Caveolae EP has now sold out totally. Lost At Sea is limited in numbers to so don't shandy about if you want a copy! We hope to see you soon, we'll be expecting you, you'll see...

Look-you,
Thanks so much to all who came to see us at Godiva Festival last weekend, was such a top do. Our performance was very well documented! The BBC filmed us playing "For Your Country", which you can watch Here. Loads of great photo's were taken. View some Here and another load 'ere. Plus a rather nice review is online here. Phew.

We've just uploaded two new tracks to myspace page - "For Your Country" & "Am I The One?". Both are available on the Lost At Sea CD at gigs or online. Phew, that's about it...for now, but more gigs are being sorted so keep your eyes OPEN!
Take it easy, tiger.

MiC place 3rd in G Factor comp -

Good day sir,
We have breaking news on the Cave front today. This year Men in Caves entered the prestigious G Factor competition and out of over 100 entries were chosen to be one of the 20 acts in the live phase of the competition. In a tough heat, MiC managed to secure second place thanks to your votes (and because the judges thought we rocked), which made us one of the eight bands that will be playing in the local bands tent at the Godiva festival on the 13th July. The story does NOT end there, however. Last night (24th May) we played in the final round of the competition and managed to storm to 3rd place overall! We're pretty much ecstatic about the whole thing, and we want to thank everyone who voted for us and who came down to watch last night. All the bands who played were fantastic and the festival is set to be brilliant.

What's up doc? Well news at this end is that BBC Coventry & Warwickshire have only gone and named us as their "Band of the Month" for March! They profiled us on their website & last week we swung by the beeb radio village for an interview & acoustic session. Read all about it & listen again right here. The new "Lost At Sea" EP has been going down rather well in other quarters too, being featured on Lock Broom Radio & Tone FM, where it was record of the week. A few reviews are starting to filter through also, but more on that soon. Take it easy on yer toes...

Buongiorno, Yes-a-ree-(bob)! We've only gone and done it, we've finally recorded a new EP. Woo. Hoo. ! This musical feast is currently being tranferred onto compact discoteque & packed into a shiny box for you to hold on to, tighty. To celebrate, we'll be taking the M.i.C circus out and A-bout to play some gig concerts at an assembly room near you. This will start after the stroke of the new year. In the meantime, don't do anything I wouldn't do, and if you do, then make sure Becky don't find out. This has been the news, thank you for watching.

How do you do? The future is upon us, no denying that. If anyone tries to tell you otherwise then they're one bad badger. Well well, we're recording some new song noises next week. Best bet is to keep it locked to this here page and we'll whisper very loudly when they're ready for you and who's army. If you still haven't heard the old ones then swing past Myspace on the double. They might be gone in the morning. Hasta Luego.

Well fear not young grasshopper, for we shipped Big Jon out to the eastern bloc. He made the drop off and its now back in the room. Now cut yourself a slice of cake and make a wish cos we've just crossed the 10,000 plays mark on Myspace. Whoopy-doo! M.i.C x

It's official, we're back from thee dead! You can't get me down Ray, you cannot get me down! We played our first full band gig in four months last Saturday. Thanks to all who came down, t'was a good night we reckon, and we're usually right so no arguments! There's a couple more gigs lined up & we'll be playing some new tunes at 'em. They're over there > go go GO! See you soon, Men In Caves x

Friday, 7th April, 2006 -

Over the last few weeks, the band has been taking an involuntary break as Ross has been laid up in hospital with some sort of mystery illness, with no more specific diagnosis than "it's not bird flu", bored out of his mind and trying to get in with nurses. Fortunately for the MiC he is officially "on the mend" and the band will be back in action soon. In the meantime, the remaining 66.6% of the band are playing acoustic gigs in the area. Alternatively, the full band experience can be simulated by listening to the Caveolae EP while flicking through the vast numbers of new photos in the gallery.

Thanks to all those who came to all our recent shows, was great to play Chelt & Brum for the first time. Keep your eyes on the gigs page, there's more being added all the time.
Brand spanking new magazine "Concrete" is covering all the happenings of Coventry & Warks. The 1st issue features an excellent review of our debut EP.

Local music guru Pete Chambers has invited Men in Caves to appear on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire as part of his regular slot on the Anita Miah show. The band will be interviewed and play selected tracks from the Caveolae EP.
Scheduled between 8-9, Monday 24th October... The interview can be found (here).
